A Surprise Visitor

Sheryl called me at work one day and asked if we were up for a visitor for the weekend. I of course was very excited. A friend had an extra seat available on their airplane and asked if she wanted to come down for the weekend. We discussed the logistics and thought it would be fun to surprise the rest of the family. Although many occasions came up where I wanted to break the news to Lisa, I refrained and never said a word.

On Jan 31, I picked her up from the airport and "brought her home from work" with me. As we walked into the house, kids were a screamin' and Lisa was preparing dinner in the kitchen with her back turned. Shelby was the first to see Grandma and managed to suppress her reaction until after the surprise.

Sheryl commenced to get on the ground and crawl into the kitchen to tug on Lisa's pant leg. Lisa was very surprised and elated to see the visitor.

It was a very sweet surprise. We had a wonderful weekend hangin-out with Grandma. As always, the kids were sad to see her go.
